In this two-week class, students will look at examples of many kinds of hand-made lace including: knitting, crochet, bobbin lace, tatting, and drawn work. We will explore the fascinating history of lace such as smuggling and strict laws about who could wear lace in public. Students will design a piece of lace, make a pattern, and begin stitching to create a beautiful piece of needle lace.
