In this painting class, students will get hands-on experience and guidance in creating portraits in oil. In three class sessions, student will explore methods using value, lighting, and form to create the illusion of human likeness and expression. Beyond these foundations, the class will also explore color theory and brushwork.

NOTE: Oil paint uses solvents and thinners for cleanup; students will use odorless turpenoid instead of regular turpentine, but some materials can still be hazardous if used incorrectly. Only students ages 18 and up may participate in this workshop.
