If you’ve ever wanted to get into woodworking, now is your chance! In this six-week woodworking class led by local woodworking experts, students will learn to: understand and apply proper safety practices as they pertain to the woodworking shop; safely use and care for hand tools; safely use and care for portable and stationary power tools; estimate material requirements, create material lists and cut lists; and, given simple plans, accurately measure, mark, cut, and assemble various projects using hand and power tools.

This class takes place at a woodworking shop located at 824 Hampshire Street in Quincy, IL. All students will be required to sign a liability waiver before the class begins. Parents of younger teens are encouraged to attend.

NOTE: Many supplies will be given to students during the first class. Participating students must bring the following items to class each week:
• Folder for hand-outs
• Notebook paper
• Protective eyewear mandatory (hearing protection is highly recommended)
• #2 pencils (no pens, mechanical pencils or construction pencils)
Event Registration is closed.
