Don’t have time for a full clay course but want to experience the potter’s wheel? Join us for this exciting one-night clay wheel-throwing experience at Quincy Art Center! Participants will receive thirty minutes of instruction for how to throw on the pottery wheel. Afterwards, participants will have up to an hour and a half of independent work time on the wheel with the assistance of our qualified in-house instructor, so come try your hand at this artform and get a little messy with us! Students are welcome to keep anything they make. No experience needed.
This class uses air-dry clay for throwing instead of earthenware or stoneware; finished vessels will be sent home the night of class or left at the Art Center to dry before they can be painted at home. Glazing is not included in this class because the clay vessels will not be fired.
We cannot guarantee that you will successfully wheel-throw a pot during this session. You are not required to keep everything you make.
