Quincy Art Center is 100 years old this year, thanks to support from people like YOU. We are excited to celebrate our centennial with you. We look forward to seeing you at our exhibits and events this year. As a reminder, we are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and it’s free to see our exhibits.
Spring 2023 exhibits and programs include:
- Our 100th Anniversary Open Call Exhibition, with the theme “Reflect on the Past, Engage with the Present, and Imagine the Future.” Artists and art collectors of all ages may submit artwork that explores the theme. The exhibit will be shown May 27 - July 29.
- Special selections from the permanent collection, reflecting some of the most interesting pieces the Art Center has acquired throughout the years. The exhibit will be on display from March 11 - April 29.
- Our stART program that provides visual art education for children in kindergarten through third grade. The State of Illinois doesn’t require visual art education for these grades, so stART bridges that gap. Schools in rural Adams, Brown, and Pike (IL) counties are participating in this program, in addition to Quincy public and parochial schools.
- Scholarships for art classes. Scholarships allow students to take classes regardless of financial ability. We have seen a drastic increase in scholarship requests in the past month! Your support ensures that art education is available to anyone wanting to experience the Power of Art.
This Spring, we ask you to invest in the power of art by sending a gift to the Art Center for our exhibits and programs this quarter. Your support is needed now more than ever for us to connect people to the power of art by creating opportunities to experience, make, and share art. We cannot provide these amazing exhibitions and programs without your help. On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, thank you for supporting the Art Center.
